Imbokodo LaunchPad stems from Kasi Child and is an organisation founded by Jazman Simelane and spearheaded by Lerato Simelane. The organisation was born out of our long-standing NPO called Kasi Child. Imbokodo LaunchPad was formed to provide adolescent and young women of underprivileged communities the foundations which will allow them to launch into success through a community centred, principle-centred and character-based approach.
We are a support system that addresses issues faced by the township girl child (most importantly HIV/AIDS). Our pilot home is at a school in Tsakane (East of Johannesburg) called Tholulwazi Secondary School. We have two refurbished containers that we operate from to assist learners with various transformation programmes that result in behavioural change and provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, prevention and rights.
